Ladakh 3 Monasteries and Shrines

One of the many delights of Himalayan trekking is the huge variety of religious buildings, from the huge, bright and lavish to the small wayside chorten or mani wall with faded prayer flags. The blend of varieties of Buddhism with Hinduism and older more shamanistic religions is typical of the area, at the moment they seem to co-exist peaceably with Islam, maybe because life is too hard to quibble over what God is called. Long may it last!
