My final project is done, almost show and assessment time! With help from our tutors I now have a plan & almost a shopping list for my stuff for working at home. I have many ideas to follow up, and some ideas for short courses to build on my foundation.
Our DofE unit raises funds for charity by putting on a musical over a weekend, I think this is the 10th or 11th year I've helped with costumes, "Beauty and the Beast" Disney style, so I've just started making the Beast's head with Laura's help, it was part of her course to make masks and things. I'll post photos as it evolves.

Rosey.
If you've been following this, you'll know my niece Rosey has gone to Antarctica for 18/12 following her PhD., she's posted some spectacular photos here. It looks so tempting, but I don't think she can get out to do anything on quite a lot of days so we don't see the storms and white-outs. She also keeps quiet about all the discomforts. I do envy her the experience.

Finished!
I have now finished my final film, "Becoming"I think it’s OK, some bits are quite good. The story is the cycle of Life (tempting to say “The Universe and Everything”), the seasons and the day, reflected in the changing sky, trees and aging of the characters who disintegrate before re-growing into a tree and two more people. The music is Peter Maxwell Davies’ “Yesnaby Ground”, Gossec’s “Tambourin”, and Glass’ “Mad Rush”, an appropriate title for the journey through life. I hope you all enjoy it, I certainly did. I can't believe my year as an art student is so nearly finished. It's been so hectic I'm a bit directionless now!

Peak District,Plague, Computers
We had another weekend in the peak-district, based in Youlgrave/Youlgreave or one of the 100 or so spellings used in the last 1000 years! We went there in the summer and stumbled on the welldressing. This is Eyam, where in 1665-6 a large proportion of the villagers died from plague, allegedly imported from London on flee-infested cloth. The vicars shut off the village, preventing a major epidemic in the area.

Easter, Margate
We had a wonderful family gathering at M&R's, Laura&(young)Nick, Amy, Clare&(old)Nick and of course my favourite great nephew. B wasn't able to be there, & Rosey, now known as Auntarctica is stranded for the winter on her adventures.
I went to Margate with Ronayne to the new Tate Gallery and to take photos of the town, some on 60pix, here are a couple more. We thought the little boat might do for Michael! Even the gulls take refuge in the pub.

Busy! DofE again.
10 days since the last one, and another birthday, where's it all gone? We had an interesting few days with gold DofE groups in Snowdonia, 1st April was a wonderful spring day, then blizzards and almost zero visibility by the 3rd.
