Until recently, I would have regarded this photo as a colourful close up of a nasturtium flower, but having started on Milton's Paradise lost, it's clearly the flaming gates to hell, you can almost see Satan, Moloch and the rest behind there plotting their revenge...
The problem with putting the flowers in a salad, however delicious, is the almost inevitable earwig inside, maybe I'm not being so fanciful...
